General Overview: O.H. Anderson DAPE (3-5)
Developmental Adapted Physical Education is a service provided to students with a specific disability or limiting condition. Moreover, physical activities are modified or changed to meet their unique needs.

Mission Statement:
The mission of Adapted PE is to provide services to students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment and coincide their attainable goals and objectives with the district's goals for physical education.

Instruction in a Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) refers to adapting or modifying the physical education curriculum and/or instruction to address the individualized abilities of each child. Adaptation are made to ensure that each student will experience success in a safe environment. Placement is outlined in the IEP and may include one or more of the following options:

*The general physical education setting
*The general physical education setting with a teaching assistant or peers
*General PE Setting @ OHA is 1 day a week for 50 minutes with Paul Peltier

*A separate class setting with peers
*A separate class setting with assistants
*A one-to-one setting between students and the instructor
*DAPE Services @ OHA are 2 days a week for 30 minutes with Shelley Mitchell
